Specifications

Care & use:

Totem Compact 40L Waste & Recycling Bin:

  • External surfaces - wipe clean with a damp cloth and then dry with a soft, dry cloth - do not use abrasive cloths or strong chemical cleaners
  • Buckets & food waste caddy - remove from unit and clean with hot, soapy water - wipe dry before replacing in unit (to help remove unpleasant odours, a solution of baking powder and water may also be used).
  • IW2 Liners: We recommended to store the bags in cool, dry conditions away from sunlight and humidity. Once opened, it is recommended to use the bags within 6 months.

  • Warning: Plastic bags can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep bags away from babies and children.

Replacement Odour Filters:

"We previously had one of these and it has been the best bin ever , perfect neat size and even matches our kitchen exactly, many asking ‘did it come with the kitchen ! So was very sad after 3 or 4 years regular use the hinge to the top bin was beyond repair, So there was no question of replacing with another type of bin as we cannot fault the Joseph Joseph 40L totem bin apart from perhaps a stronger hinge so we just ordered the same and it so good to have it , just love it !"

Nothing like the older version

"Having had an older version for many years, we replaced it with this one, but have been so disappointed. The lid is flimsy and the catch often doesn’t work, the food bin is smaller and fiddly and overall it feels a significant down grade. We have been buying Joseph Joseph products for years but this may be the last."

"Wow I had my eye on this bin for a while. Live in a flat. Fits perfectly in the space I wanted it in. The recycling bin is amazing n so is the compost bin. My other bin use to smell so I did wanna change it It’s expensive but honestly worth it especially if u do a lot recycling n compost. Bin bags are strong, bit expensive. Quick delivery by DPD.
