The Anatomy of JuiceMax™ Plus
Reamers and traditional juicers are messy and liable to leave precious juice behind. We wanted to create a product that would solve that.

Identifying the problems
When our designers were developing the JuiceMax™ Plus, they looked at the key problems users encountered with existing juicers. Juice presses in general often leave a lot of waste behind, with not all juice being extracted, due to a lack of agitation of the fruit.
Reamers on the other hand, are a messy, sticky process. The user would have to work quite hard to get juice from the fruit every time, making for a high-effort to reward ratio.
We wanted to address these issues in our design, and create a mess-free solution that would be suitable for squeezing oranges, lemons and limes.
Designing the solution – the ideation phase
The question we needed to answer was: how do we combine these two processes of reaming and pressing into one simple-to-use tool?
We wanted to ensure the user could apply enough pressure to extract all the juice from the fruit, so that no juice was left behind. The reaming process needed to be an easy twist so that the juicer was user-friendly and not laborious to use. We set out to remove the awkward wrist motion that traditional reamers require, where the hand is working very hard to keep the fruit in place.
To solve the messy associations with juicing, we added a measuring cup to collect the juice. This simple addition means the user can pour directly into their glass, cup, or bowl for their drink or recipe directly, saving the sticky hands and kitchen counter that are associated with other forms of manual juicer.
The finished product
The finished product, JuiceMax™ Plus is a powerful juicer that's ideal for citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes. The dual-action juicing mechanism squeezes and reams at the same time to get the maximum juice out with minimum effort from the user. Holes in the reamer allow the juice to flow through as pips and pulp are caught and trapped, so they’re easy to dispose of.
There’s a 300ml collection jug that catches every drop as you squeeze, and includes measurements on the front, so you can easily use the collected juice in recipes. The drip-free spout on both sides makes for easy pouring, and the soft-touch non-slip base keeps the measuring cup stable on a counter top.
